希望之芽園區中文班在10/18開 ! 課 ! 囉 !

孩子們早上到學校註冊完新學期後,就緊接著騎腳踏車到園區,好奇一個月以來,彼此只能用微笑打招呼的熟悉陌生人,到底會怎麼上中文課?

走進教室,有些孩子對於用投影機上課感到新鮮,紛紛朝著投影的白牆比出各種喜歡的手勢;有些孩子偷偷觀察老師的一舉一動,然後跟旁邊同學討論,似乎在推論等一下要做什麼。

當老師用「你好」開啟今日的課堂,孩子們意外非常熟練地給老師一個充滿活力的「你好」! 揭開今天令人期待的第一堂課。

在全中文的課堂中,一開始,孩子們誤會老師指令發生的趣事不斷,例如:老師請學生說說看,學生卻誤會意思,反而變成他們也下指令請老師說說看

沉浸式教學就是這麼有趣,雖然沒辦法像母語翻譯課堂進行的那麼直接、快速,但只要老師不斷提供鼓勵,讓學生保持信心及耐心,再搭配多元的教學方法讓學生有不同方式的理解,最後都能慢慢知道真正的意思,而且是透過自己建構對語言的了解,不只是老師的直接輸入。

一小時的課程,孩子們透過不同練習方法,學會說中文最基本的簡單問候,「你好,我是誰,我是柬埔寨人,很高興認識你!」也學會了中文數字1~7的說法及手勢。語言課程,最重要的事就是讓孩子們有信心開口說,不用擔心說得不好!

看著孩子們在最後的複習時間,自信、精神的說出今日所學的內容,老師感到非常欣慰,幸好、幸好孩子們沒有害怕中文。老師期待也相信,未來一定能與孩子們一起更享受在學習中文的樂趣!

 

Formosa Budding Hope Organization’s Chinese Class began on 18th of October!

After the children had completed the registration process for the new semester in the morning, they rode their bicycles to the campus immediately.

They were burning with curiosity about communicating with the strangers who they had only been able to say hello to for a month. How would they take with Chinese lessons?

 

When walking into the classroom, some of students felt excited about using a projector during the class, they began playing with the shadows towards the projection wall. The other students observed the teacher’s every move, and later talked about with classmates. It seemed that they were guessing what they would do later.

When the teacher spoke “nǐhǎo” to begin the first lesson, these students surprisingly responded an energetic “nǐhǎo!” Read more about the first lesson that occurred.

 

During the whole Chinese lesson, there were a lot of funny stories told at first, because the students misunderstood the instructions of the teacher.

For example: during the class, the teacher said: “repeat after me.” And the students replied with: “repeat after me.”

They confused the command of the teacher and asked the teacher to talk about it.

 

Immersion program is always interesting

Although it is not rapid and direct as native language-translation method.

Teachers keep encouraging the students to be confident and patient with themselves. They make different teaching methods to make students understand by a lot of ways.

 

In the end, students understood the whole lessons, and they built this through their own understanding of the language and their own efforts, not only the direct input of the teacher.

 

In the one hour lesson, the students learned the basic greeting like “Hi, my name is. I’m Cambodian. Nice to meet you.” by practicing a lot of activities.

They also learned how to speak and make gestures about the numbers in Chinese.

The main purpose of the language lesson is building the confidence of students to speak and not worry about making mistakes while speaking.

When the students were speaking what they learned during the review with confidence and fluency. The teacher felt proud. It is good thing that the students were unafraid of speaking Chinese.

The teacher believes that the students will enjoy learning Chinese with her in the future.
